Starship Entertainment (스타쉽엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean entertainment agency and subsidiary label under Kakao M. It was established in 2008, co-founded by Kim Shi-dae, Seo Hyun-joo, Kim Young-suk.
History[]
Starship Entertainment was founded on January 5, 2008 by Kim Shi-dae and Seo Hyun-joo, who were a couple, with Kim Young-suk. Kim Shi-dae previously worked as a road manager for K-pop band Cool and worked for Big Hit Entertainment (currently known as HYBE) between 2005 and 2007, while Seo Hyun-joo worked for JYP Entertainment. In that same year, they debuted a soloist, K.Will.
In 2010, their first group, SISTAR, debuted, and in the following year, their first boy group, BOYFRIEND, also debuted. Other artists included in the company include Jeong Sewoon, WJSN (Cosmic Girls), IVE, and CRAVITY.
